When you cross the threshold of a house and feel instantly welcomed—when the colors, textures, and little curios seem to speak a silent language of warmth—that is Grihsthi at work. Founded in Indore and powered by a team of dreamers who believe “हर घर, एक कहानी” (every home tells a story), Grihsthi is more than a home‑décor label. It is a celebration of the Indian way of living, infused with contemporary flair and ethical intention.
Our Journey
Grihsthi began with one question: Why should beautiful design feel out of reach for the everyday Indian home?
Our founder, Shruti Lalwani, grew up surrounded by the vibrant bazaars of Madhya Pradesh—places where brass diyas nestled beside block‑printed fabrics and where artisans chatted about their craft over steaming cups of chai. She saw first‑hand the artistry that thrives in India’s small towns, yet realized that much of it never makes its way to modern living spaces.
Determined to bridge that gap, Shruti launched Grihsthi in 2023 from a modest studio apartment. Instagram was our first window to the world; today, that community has blossomed into a nationwide family of décor lovers who share, tag, and inspire one another with #MyGrihsthi moments.
Design Philosophy: Rooted in Heritage, Styled for Now
-
Heritage Textures, Modern Lines
Every cushion cover, lamp, or terracotta planter begins with an indigenous craft—Dabu block prints from Rajasthan, chikankari‑inspired embroidery from Lucknow, or the earthy patina of Bastar metalwork—reimagined for today’s sleek interiors. -
Sustainability in Every Stitch
We partner with artisan clusters that champion eco‑friendly processes: azo‑free dyes, responsibly sourced mango wood, and hand‑loomed cotton that honors both the planet and the people behind the loom. -
Versatility Is Key
Grihsthi pieces are designed to move effortlessly between apartments, villas, and office corners. A macramé wall hanging doubles as a headboard; a brass urli becomes a festive centerpiece or a rustic planter bowl. Your style evolves—so should your décor.
